"About a year and a half ago, my wife and I took a painting workshop in Jim Thorpe, PA. While we were in Africa last month, I received this from Scranton, PA, about an hour north of where we took the workshop. I left a number of envelopes throughout the town including at the coffee shop, an antique store, a bookstore and the library. I haven't left any IGAEs in about a year, but the two recent submissions has motivated me to get back on the horse."

Wow! I've been a fan of the site for ages and love how it grows slowly and deliberately over time as opposed to mountains of new content every day. About a year and a half ago, I got really excited about the project and hand drew a bunch of envelopes, with painted stone weights and left them around. After not getting any bites, I started making copies of those same envelopes and leaving them in books. We traveled, we littered our wake with them. Still no bites. The project slipped from consciousness. Then last week, I get a tattered and torn package stuffed with content. It was my very first IGAE return! Irony on several levels with this one: 1) The post office returned the letter to the mailer because it couldn't read part of my hand-drawn address. 2) After the sender had the letter returned, she resent it in a shell envelope with a handwritten address but I had moved! It still got here. 3) Chelsea Davis, the sender found the project while she was researching for her senior thesis: The Art of the Handwritten Letter! So the envelope was perfect. 4) after finding the envelope, she lost it for some time before finally setting the wheels in motion. And here it is today. I hope that things continue to grow, it's fascinating! I'm including all of the content I received as I'm not sure how much you are interested in sharing.
